This is the second and final part of the GIMP Phot Editing.
The Introduction was published earlier. If not found CLICK HERE. Now I will
teach you how to make a beautiful word effect with this software. Let’s call it
the COOLFIRE image.
Then let’s go on. Open the GIMP editor and go to ,FILE—NEW (PICTURE 1).Then you will be given a Create a new image dialog box. There you can edit the size of your image(PICTURE 2).Then click OK.
Then let’s go on. Open the GIMP editor and go to ,FILE—NEW (PICTURE 1).Then you will be given a Create a new image dialog box. There you can edit the size of your image(PICTURE 2).Then click OK.
Now you should change the background colour as Black.(PICTURE
3)(I’m describing about the making of COOLFIRE image.If other you can
manage these things as you want.)For that, Click on the Bucket fill tool and
select the black cover and then click on the blank image.Now you should write
the word you want by click on the “A” marked tool.You can change the font by
your choice.(PICTURE 4)
ADDING LAYERS
Now you should compact the background layer and the text
layer with the use of Dockable dialog. If you don’t’t see the Dockable dialog
menu on the screen Go to Windows—Dockable dialog—Layer(PICTURE 5) .There you
will see the 2 layers.you should right click on the text layer and click Merge
down.
MAKING FIRES
Now you should find the SMUDGE tool in the tool box.Then you
will get a tool with a round shape mark on it.You can change the size of this
circle with the use of { and } mark on your keyboard. Now You should keep this
circle mark on the edge of a letter and jerk it to the out side.You should do
this without stoping ,to the whole letter and do the same to the other letters.(PICTURE

Now you will see the letter as it is burning.But the colour
is white. So, let’s change the colour
CHANGING THE COLOUR
Select the ‘colour’ from the upper menu.Now you will take
the colour balance dialog box.Under the title of SELECT RANGE TO EDIT which will be shown on
the colour balance dialog box , select the first topic(Shadows) and edit the “Adjust
colour levels” as below.
Cyan 100
Magenta 30
Yellow 30

Do the same for the categories [Midtonnes] and [Highlights].Now
click ok.You are finished, Thank you.
